The Blues ain’t nothin’ but a good man feelin’ down.
A message from Fangirl Central
Sinners came out April 18, 2025. Three months prior, our dad Andre LeMoyne Miller debuted his 29-piece collection The Redemption of a Delta Bluesman: Robert Johnsonat the Delta Cultural Center in Helena, Arkansas.
As three Memphians, this movie profoundly moved us in unique ways. As Black Americans, we don’t see our stories on film beyond trauma films about slavery or the Civil Rights movement. Sinners tells the truth of the Jim Crow era, while also beautifully and powerfully representing our artistry, community, and resilience through the Delta Blues.
We believe the emotion and themes of this Robert Johnson collection related so heavily that we wanted to show our appreciation for the team behind it. The power of art is such that it moves its viewers to create more art. For our dad, it’s through his paintings. For us, it’s through film and fandom practices like cosplay. We hope this display of artistry can showcase the tapestry of Black American culture, and continue our people’s legacy of creativity and empowerment.
